An early start - 6 am - breakfast at the hotel, bags packed and on to the truck. We left at 8 am, heading for the border crossing from Zambia back into Botswana. With all the formalities completed just after 9, we had to pass through Botswana's foot and mouth controls, and whilst the truck was driven through an anti-bacterial wash, we had to subject all our footwear to the same treatment.  We arrived back in Kasane, where we had an opportunity to do some shopping, buying sufficient water for our remaining eight days in the wild, and to stock up on the odd present or two. We were leaving Kasane

by 11.30, and prior to mid-day we were entering Chobe National Park, our site for the next two nights. No sooner had we entered the park than we encountered a female lion and her three cubs lying in the shade of a bush. We encountered numerous antelope and birds, and by 12.30 we had arrived at our campsite. We were soon settling down to lunch, and I warned others that my "Factor 15" was on the dining table, and its yellow bottle must not be confused with others. A short time later Trudi sat down, and Nancy - only just - prevented her from flavouring her meal with sun protection rather than mustard!!

Whilst unpacking, Reg discovered an unauthorised stowaway within his luggage, in the shape of a frog. Bibi assured us that he would, as, presumably a former resident of Nxai Pan he would be able to cope in the warmer climes of Chobe, and he was duly released.  After settling into our new surroundings, we had a quiet afternoon before it was time for our game drive. We had sightings of large numbers of elephant, crocodile, buffalo, warthogs, kudu, red lechewe, mongoose and the rare puku, a small type of antelope, whilst the birds included sacred ibis, spoonbill and fish eagle amongst others.

We were back at camp by 6.45 pm, and time for a cup of tea around the fire before a dinner of minced beef, carrots, broccoli and rice, followed by a dessert of guava.
We gathered around the bonfire following dinner, and with a glass of whisky or two we were given another of Bibi's talks. 9.45 pm and it was time again for bed, and once again, the sounds of the night, with distant roar of a lion adding that little bit of atmosphere!!
