Having all been  safely ensconced within our hotel, our holiday was all but over, and all that remained was our flights home. We could all look back on a trip that in virtually every aspect had exceeded all of our expectations. Each of us will have our own individual memories, our own individual highlights. With so many different experiences it was perhaps the wide and varied content that made the trip so special - the unforgettable Victoria Falls, the excitement of our encounter with the leopard. It could have been those lesser aspects that will be memorable to others - simply sleeping beneath the stars in an unbelievably clear sky amidst the sounds of the African night featured high on my list. We must not forget also the different characters of this group of 12 random travellers who, from day one just got along with each other, providing that essential ingredient of friendliness.

Finally, it was the hard work of our crew, Bibi and his two support guys, Gee and David, whose daily routine of looking after the 12 of us so well set the seal on what for all of us I'm sure was an outstanding trip - a truly memorable African adventure.

To those who are contemplating this trip - you will not be disappointed.
I now have three African  trip diaries in place, and all our experiences have been special in their own individual ways, and I would not have wanted to miss any one of them, so in choosing - sorry, you will just have to make your own mind up!!

To all our fellow travellers - I hope you have enjoyed reading this diary as much as I have in compiling it. As with my earlier diaries, I tend to dip back into them from time to time, often on a cold winter's evening, when many of the memories come flooding back, and hopefully it will do the same for you. Last year, on closing my 2006 diary, I was already making mental preparations for the trip we have just completed. Once again we are looking to the future, and it seems that Namibia is the likely destination. (Indeed - Nancy has already bought the guide and map, so it seems her mind is made up !!)

Best wishes to you all, it was great meeting you, and sharing our experiences.
Enjoy your travels, wherever they may take you.
