Another early start. We were still on a
high, having already seen so much of what we hoped we would see. What was left?
Marcell had still not shown us a rhino !!" - (some people are SO
hard to please !!) so our early-morning drive brought much anticipation, and
the hope that we would bag one before leaving the Mara. Marcell
proved merely human after all - and we drew a blank !
No complaints though - and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this
wonderful place. We did, however, see numerous birds, (only a few of
which I could readily identify) lots of zebra, impala and |

buffalo - and a warthog seen here
(above)
with a crowned crane. Giraffe were also abundant as we made our way back
to Lake Naivasha. Another long drive, but on this occasion, made in
a single hop in the Land Cruisers. Had a stop for refreshment on the way
back, and on return to our camp we ended the afternoon with a
stroll along the lakeside. After dinner that evening, Debs, David, Bev
and Steve joined us for a dram of Talisker single malt - which brought a
very pleasant end to the day - a day that had a sense of quiet following
the excitement of The Mara. Yet another early start was planned
for the following morning - with a 6am
reveille.
